Who We Are
Khadija Layne is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who has been practicing for eight years. Khadija was born and raised in Boston, MA but has been back to the NC area since 2019. Most of her training is understanding systems and how these systems affect the way we think, feel, and walk through the world we are currently in. Khadija believes that some of the things that you may be experiencing could also be from generational patterns that have existed in your family for generations until the client that sits in her office is finally ready to deal and process through the immense nature of it. Khadija also believes that you are the expert of your life, she is just a part of it in this current moment to help you through it.
Hello! My name is Maya Scarbrough and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I obtained my Masters from The University of Kentucky in Clinical Social Work and am working towards full SC licensure, LISW-CP. I enjoy building on an individual's goals through open communication and trust. I focus on active listening which I believe allows you to build on your own desires and find the answers within yourself. I see the light at the end of the tunnel for everyone and believe anyone can reach their individual goals by investing time in themselves and their future. I look forward to working with you soon!
Hello my name is Martina Boulware! I have a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have recently acquired provisional licensure status to practice mental health counseling in the state of SC. I am a mother, spouse, friend, sister, daughter, LPC-A, and wearer of many hats like many of you! I have worked with children in a professional capacity for the past 3 years and have the ability to build rapport quickly and provide alternatives to maladaptive behaviors and cognitive distortions using an array of interventions and approaches to include: CBT, TF-CBT, Person-centered therapy, and Brief-solution focused therapy. I am a lover of art and all things that bring balance and peace of mind. I am trauma informed and have knowledge of neuroscience, including how trauma impacts the brain. More importantly I am a listener and have the ability to meet clients where they are, no matter the walk in life. I would love the opportunity to use the knowledge and life experience I've gained over the years to increase stress tolerance, introduce new situational perspectives and restore hope for those who have lost it. I look forward to working with you soon!
